to promote the well-being of the residents
by supporting local non-profit agencies.

The United Way is a nonprofit organization that relies strictly on public donations to operate.  Each fall the United Way begins its campaign to raise money, which is then distributed to local agencies.  These agencies must provide services to Paulding County residents in order to receive funds.  The agencies must apply annually for money.  Their requests are reviewed by the allocation committee and voted on by the Board of Directors.  Donations to the Paulding County United Way are tax deductible.  The United Way relies on area businesses and individuals for annual donations.  The Paulding County United Way operates independently from the other United Ways in the nation.  It is governed by local residents who serve on the board of directors.  The office is staffed by a part time Executive Director and volunteers.
